 Welcome to the University of Kent Tennis Club!! At UKC Tennis Club, we encourage people of all standards, from absolute beginners to regular team players, so with a racquet in one hand and a pint in t’other, come join us! Membership is just £17 for an entire year, making Tennis one of the most affordable Clubs on campus. We have team training, matches and social play throughout the weeks so there will always be a session to match your standard. There will be coaching throughout the year (mainly aimed at beginners/improving players). For those of you who are already good players but want to tweak one or two things with you technique you can look towards our captains who are always willing to help out. Members are encouraged to try-out for the teams, taking place early on in the first term. We have three teams who compete in the national Universities’ league - BUCS. Even if you are not lucky enough to be selected, your support is always needed during home matches. You will most definitely be needed at the ultimate clash on the UKC calendar…Varsity!! UKC takes on arch-rivals Canterbury Christchurch in all sports. The competition is fierce both on and off the field and there will be long periods of practicing our trash talking! You can join the “family” properly by purchasing the Club’s kit – a definite must-have for Varsity!! It will be available to order at various points throughout the year. The Club also boasts a fabulous social side. Socials are organised weekly and no two are ever the same. The non-drinking socials are always hilarious and are bound to bring out your competitive side e.g. bowling, LazerQuest etc etc UKC Tennis also helps to enhance your CV. Every potential employer will recognise that you possess social skills and that you can easily interact with others. Participating in the Club elections will look even better and will allow you to become even more involved in its organisation. Tennis isn’t just a sport or a club at UKC. Here, tennis is a way of life. You will meet some of the most amazing people who will become lifelong friends.
